Living close to loved ones.
Creating extra living space and avoiding the disruptive building work involved with a house extension. Self contained living suitable for staying close to family members or designed for carers to be close by but not living in the main house.
Design is in the detail. Throughout the main living and sleeping areas is beautiful parquet solid Bamboo flooring which is an excellent eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to hardwood flooring as it only takes 5 years to mature rather than 30 years. Bamboo floors are also hypoallergenic, making them a good choice for people with allergies or sensitivities. We plumped for the Squisharoo Sofa supplied by Loaf - made with British craftsmanship in every pleat, fold and frame - in a gorgeous Jam Sandwich velvet! The bathroom basin is the Volini by Lusso in Italian stone with matching Lusso fittings and we’ve used the Airflow QuietAir QT100 Extractor Fan which is apparently the quietest fan available. To help make cooking that little bit more enjoyable we’ve fitted a one piece solid quartz worktop with the cutest miniature SMEG kettle so you boil just as much water as you need. In the lower units there is a fitted fridge freezer and washer/dryer and outside we’ve added the super cool Brabantia fold-away dryer if you choose Mother Nature to dry your clothes more sustainably. The bedroom has been designed to be extra cosy with bed linen by White and Green, a family business based in Ireland that set out to create the best bedding in the world combining the finest organic cotton and master craftsmanship. Their signature is their 300tc sateen weave which is the best mixture of softness, quality and breathability and they helped us plant one tree, through Tree Nation, for every product we bought. We chose the OTTY bed and their pure hybrid bamboo and charcoal infused mattress. It comes with their tallest ever springs at 16cm to ensure full support for your joints and back. You’ll notice in the wardrobe and lounge we’ve added vintage 1950’s and 60’s GPLAN furniture. The Astro table was designed by VB Wilkins which has clear references to Isamu Noguchi’s IN-50 coffee table (1944) and the Spider occasional table (1970). The art on the walls is by a local Bristol resident artist Frances Collett with her signature style of pop art imagery.
